Well, I always wondered why I found the popular Elmo dolls so incredibly creepy. I may not be able to sleep tonight seeing how my worst nightmare has been confirmed: they are soulless, murderous monsters.
One Florida tot, James Bowman, has presumably been traumatized for life after a routine battery change when, "The Elmo Knows Your Name Doll started saying "Kill James!" in a sing-song voice."
Report: Elmo Doll Threatens to Kill Toddler
Now, I don't feel so distraught while watching the following classic YouTube video.
For all I care, Mr. Elmo Knows Your Name can burn in Hell with his equally evil clone, Tickle Me Elmo.
And, isn't it sweet that Fisher-Price has offered a voucher for a replacement doll? Thanks, but no thanks! If I were the victim of Evil Elmo, I would demand money for psychological damages. Why not? Everyone else does.

WoW. To the generation who feared Chucky, that's incredibly disturbing.

Indeed. I remember when we got a trio of foster kids straight from PPC a few years ago. After we had them about a week, we decided to go rent a movie. Upon entering the store, the 5-year-old immediately heads for the horror section. The 3-year-old, following behind, looks up at me and says, "Chuckie scares me."
Me, too, son. We watch "Finding Nemo" tonight.

I'd comment on the ludicrousness of parents allowing a 5-year-old to watch horror movies, but from what I've heard, that's probably the most responsible parenting move they made.
On a completely (almost) unrelated note involving singing, dancing toys--this past weekend at my parents' house, my mom dug out the most obnoxious singing dancing turkey I've ever seen. Penny watched it intently for a few minutes, them picked up the water gun, "chambered a round", and proceeded to shoot the hell out of it. Her grandpa was so proud, he had tears in his eyes ;)
