Description
From the event organizers: One 4th of July I sat on the porch of my beaten-up house in the Oread drinking beers with a friend listening to firecrackers go off in the distance. The whole town, it seemed, had wandered down to the river to watch the city light thousands of dollars on fire. My friend turns to me and says, "This must be what it feels like to be Jewish on Christmas."
On July 5th at the Jackpot, we will revel in the patriotic hangovers of our peers for one pretty kick-ass hot summer punk show. Some of you may know Bad Blood bassist Carolina McKee from her younger days slinging coffee at Henry's coffeeshop. "Cuter than a band of Ewoks" this Brooklyn four-piece brings a heavy Jesus Lizard sound with sing-along styled catchy parts. With gas prices at a national average of $4.10 per gallon, if anything you should come and pay your $5 cover just to help these poor kids fuel their cross-country van tour.
Local cool kids Weird Wounds, Hairy Belafonte and The Spook Lights are sure to entertain with costumes, confetti, and lyrical allusions to juvenile delinquency.
