Synopsis

Quixotic director Spike Jonze ("Being John Malkovich") was tapped by author Maurice Sendak to helm the long-planned film of his much-loved children's book. What Jonze delivers is a faithful adaptation that doesn't pander to kids, but instead feels like a sort of "Sesame Street of the Spotless Mind."
