Illustrated Missed Connections

Daily Dose

I was walking around downtown on my evening constitutional (for I am a fop about town), and happened across the saddest flier of all time. No, not for Kottonmouth Kings...although said band's very existence upsets my humors and drives me to laudanum (fop).

No, it was a homemade missed connection from some lonely hearted fellow pining for a girl at a party whose name he didn't catch. Instead of just posting it on Craigslist like a normal depressing person, he went a step further and printed up dozens of fliers. The worst part is that the flier included his contact information for every bored teenager, frat guy and drunk sadist to see. Have fun changing your phone number and e-mail address, you poor sad bastard!

In honor of this gentleman's endearing yet laughably fruitless quest for love that will lead him to therapy and prescription drug addiction, here's a collection of illustrated Missed Connections. They're by artist Sophie Blackall, culled from missed connections sites servicing New York City, and are adorably desperate.
