Four things to do this week

Summer's just about here. Looking for something fun to do with the balmy weekday nights? Here are a few suggestions. As always, if you know of an event that's a best bet, email acgarrison@ljworld.com.

Monday entertainment: Costume karaoke at Jazzhaus

If you're looking for an unusual outlet for your inner singer, this Monday's campy special at the Jazzhaus is a singalong party with the theme of "cross-dressing." It starts at 8 p.m.

Monday local music: The Percolator's "pass the hat" series

The Percolator is again hosting a community potluck with show at its space near 913 R.I. Dinner's at 5 p.m. with music at 7 p.m. Performing this week are Tampa's No Milk and locals Robocopter and Agent X-12.

Tuesday experimental music: Xiu Xiu at the Jackpot

Avant-garde electronic rockers Xiu Xiu will play with Dirty Beaches at 10 p.m. Tickets are $10 for 21 and over, $12 for 18 to 21. Read more about Xiu Xiu in my interview with frontman Jamie Stewart.

Wednesday games: Heavy metal bingo at Bottleneck

Another offbeat pick, free games start at 8 p.m. and are fairly self-explanatory: bingo + metal music.
